A rear-view mirror is an important component of an automobile. It conveniently allows the driver to see what’s in the rear seat or behind the vehicle without turning his head. The rear view mirror is usually made of a piece of mirror mounted on a plastic frame with a bracket. It can either be attached to the vehicle’s windshield or the roof.
Because of its fragile nature, a rear-view mirror must be properly packed prior to shipping to prevent breakage, scratches and other damage. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship a rear-view mirror.
Collect all screws and small parts and place inside a Ziploc bag. Seal the bag and set aside until ready to be placed in the package.
Wrap the rear-view mirror in sevral layers of bubble wrap, making sure that the mirror is well padded as well as all corners, edges and any protruding parts. Place the wrapped item inside a box with packing materials all around to prevent movement. Don’t forget to place the bag of screws inside the package before closing and sealing the box with tape.
Place the sealed box in a slightly larger box. Fill empty spaces between the two boxes with packing materials to stop movement. Close the outer box and seal with packaging tape.
Address and label the package and take to the post office or shipping company.
