A cufflink is an accessory worn to fasten the two sides of the cuff on a dress shirt. It is mostly identified with men’s formal wear but has expanded its role and is now also worn with casual, informal, or business attire. It has also been a part of the women’s ensemble.
Apart from the wristwatch, cufflinks are included in the very short list of jewelry men can wear to spruce up their outfits. These accessories come in many designs and made from various materials including precious metals such as gold, silver, and platinum. Decorations could include luxurious semi-precious gems or less expensive materials such as enamel.
Because they are useful, fashionable, in a price range that fits any budget, and easy to pack and ship, cufflinks make great gifts for men. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship cufflinks to ensure that they arrive in excellent condition.
A pair of cufflinks usually comess in its own small jewelry box. The box is usually lined with padding and designed to hold each of the cufflink in place and prevent them from moving. If the links are not secured inside its box, wrap each one in tissue paper and fill any empty spaces with pieces of bubble wrap before closing the case shut. Tie the box with a bow or wrap it in gift wrapper if shipping as a present. Don’t forget to attach a gift tag.
Wrap the box in bubble wrap and place inside a slightly larger shipping box with a layer of packing peanuts or bubble wrap at the bottom. Fill the empty spaces on the sides and top with more packing materials to ensure that the inner box is immobile in the center of the package. Close and seal the box with heavy-duty packaging tape.
Address and label the package and take to the post office or a reputable shipping company. Consider buying insurance if shipping high-value items.
