A badminton racket is a player’s most important equipment when playing the sport. It is designed to be lightweight but sturdy enough to withstand impact during game. Badminton rackets can be made of steel, aluminum, carbon fiber, ceramic, boron or a combination of these materials.
When shipping a badminton racket, proper packing must be observed to protect its stringed head, slender shaft, and handle from impact that may lead to scratches, bending and other damages. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship a badminton racket to ensure that it arrives in excellent condition.
Prepare the racket by wrapping it in brown shipping paper and then with bubble wrap. Use tape to hold the wraps in place. If a carrying case is available, place the racket inside and use pieces of bubble wrap to fill any empty spaces to prevent the racket from moving inside. If shipping without a case, just wrap the item in extra layers of bubble wrap.
Take a box that can snugly accommodate the wrapped or cased badminton racket with a bit of extra space for packing materials. There are boxes specially made for rackets that you can get from most shipping supplies stores. You can also customize an existing box and just cut it to size to accommodate your racket.
Place the wrapped/cased badminton racket inside the box. Use packing materials such as bubble wrap or packing peanuts to fill empty spaces all around the box to prevent the item from shifting.
Close the box and seal with packaging tape. Make sure that the tape reinforces the package and will prevent it from bursting open during transit. Attach addresses and labels such as “Fragile” and “Handle with Care.” Take the box to your local shipping company or post office.
