Do you have a delicious homemade caramel sauce recipe that you want to send to family and friends or even sell to whoever is interested? That is easy as long as you know how to properly package it so it arrives in perfect condition.
Remember that foodstuff like caramel sauce must be shipped in the proper temperature to avoid melting and spoilage. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship homemade caramel sauce.
Place your caramel sauce into jars or containers with air-tight lids. Make sure that the sauce has completely cooled down before putting the lids on to prevent condensation that can cause spoilage.
Seal the lid of the jar with tape at least two times. This will ensure that it does not leak.
Place an insulated cooler inside a shipping box. Put the jar of caramel sauce inside the cooler. When shipping several jars in a package, wrap each jar with bubble wrap before placing inside the cooler and arrange them such that there are spaces for ice packs and packing materials.
Activate the ice packs and place them on the sides and top of the caramel jars.
Fill the remaining spaces inside the cooler with packing material. You may use crumpled up or shredded paper. The idea is to prevent the jars from moving around inside the cooler.
Place the lid of the cooler and close box. Seal it with packaging tape.
Prepare a packing slip for a next-day delivery in accordance with the guidelines of the parcel service you are using to ship the package.
Take to a shipping company immediately and choose overnight delivery to keep the caramel sauce fresh.
