How to Ship Handheld Game Consoles

shipping handheld gaming consoles

Handheld video game consoles like Nintendo 3DS and PlayStation Vita are small enough making them very simple to ship. They can easily fit in envelopes or boxes and are sturdy enough to withstand the rigors of shipping (they are designed with kids in mind hence they are built to survive rough handling). But it is still best to properly pack the item to ensure that it arrives without any damage.  Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship handheld game consoles.

Brand new ones that are still in their boxes can be double boxed and stuffed with packaging materials such as bubble wrap, crumpled newspaper or packing peanuts on all sides to prevent shifting and movement.

If the original packaging is no longer available, a handheld game console can be wrapped generously with bubble wrapped and placed inside an appropriately sized shipping box. Accessories and manuals should also be wrapped and placed inside the box along with the console. Fill any spaces to win the box with packaging materials to prevent the items from shifting and banging into each other during transit. Close the box and seal with packaging tape.

Clasp envelopes can be a cost-efficient alternative to boxes when shipping handheld game consoles. Simply wrap the gadget in bubble wrap and slide inside an appropriately sized clasp envelope. Seal the envelope and fold over excess sleeve. Use packaging tape to secure the fold in place.

Address and label the box or envelope and take to your local post office or shipping company.
