A yoga mat is an important item for yoga practitioners. It provides the user a comfortable cushion on a floor, as well as gives necessary traction to prevent slipping and sliding to perform your exercises effectively.
Yoga mats are typically around 72″ / 182 cm long and have a width of 24″ / 60 cm but wider models are also available. Tehy come in a variety of colors and patters and are usulally light weight.
Commercially-available yoga mats are made from diffefent materials including PVC, natural jute lined with rubber and Thermoplastic elastomer (TPE), which is deemed more environmentally friendly than PVC.
Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship a yoga mat to ensure that it arrives intact and in perfect condition.
When shipping a pre-used mat, clean both sides first by spraying with warm water with a few drops of tea tree oil. Wipe with clean dry cloth and air dry completely.
Roll the mat tightly and secure both ends with rubber bands or place it inside its accompanying strap or carrier, if any. Insert the rolled mat inside a mailing tube. Fill any remaining space with bubble wrap to prevent the mat from moving inside the tube. Secure the cape on both ends of the mailing tube with packaging tape. Make sure that the caps will not pop out during transit.
Address and label the tube and take to your post office or shipping company.
