Ski suits are outerwear worn over clothes when engaging in skiing, snowboarding and other winter sporting activities. They are usually made from wind- and water-resistant fabric, and has a non-removable liner made of nylon, silk, cotton or taffeta. Their main function is to keep a person warm while participating in outdoor sports during cold climate.
These suits can either be a one-piece jumpsuit, or two-piece ensemble comprised of a ski jacket and salopettes or ski pants. These items tend to be a bit bulkier than ordinary pieces of clothing but can be safely shipped as long as properly packed. They should be well protected from damage as tears and holes will allow entry of cold air and render the suit useless. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship a ski suit.
Fold the ski suit properly to make it small enough to fit in a shipping box. Do not compress it too much and make sure that there are as little creases as possible.
Place the ski suit in a cotton storage bag or any protective bag that is large enough to provide a snug, uncompressed fit.
Get a sturdy shipping box that is large enough to accoommodate the suit and allow extra 2 inches of space on all sides. Fill the bottom of the box with packing peanuts or bubble wrap then lay the bagged ski suit on top. Fill the remaining spaces on the sides and top with more packing materials to prevent the item from shifting.
Close the box and seal with packaging tape. Attach address and labels and take to your local post office or shipping company. Insure your ski suit to protect you in case the item gets lost or damaged during transit.
