Apple pies are one of the most popular pies in the world. They are sometimes served with whipped cream or ice cream on top but are delectable on their own. Here are some tips on how to successfully ship an apple pie and share its home-baked goodness to loved ones from afar.
Bake your pie and put inside the freezer until frozen solid.
On shipping day, wrap the frozen apple pie in plastic wrap and place inside a Ziploc bag.
Wrap the entire pie bubble wrap and secure it with tape.
Fill half of a box with packing peanuts and place the wrapped pie in the box. Put a couple of ice packs on its side.
Fill the box with more packing peanuts making sure that there’s no more empty space. Close the box and shake gently to make sure that the pie does not move around. When the pie is secured in its place, seal the box with tape.
Address and label the package. Take it to your local post office and send it via overnight delivery.
