Most inflatable items such as swimming pools and flotation toys are made of sturdy material such as vinyl making them convenient to use. Just fill them up with air and they are ready to go. Storage is also easy as you can easily deflate and fold them for storage.
When shipping inflatables, proper packing must be observed to ensure that they don’t get punctured or damaged during transportation. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship inflatable items so they arrive in perfect condition.
When shipping a used inflatable pool or toy, make sure to clean and dry it first before packing. Simply hose it down with water and let dry in the sun.
When completely dried, lay the inflatable in a flat surface and fold it as neatly as possible. You want to fold it to the smallest size possible without stretching the material too much.
Place the inflatable in a plastic bag and put in a sturdy shipping box with the bottom lined with packing materials such as shredded paper or packing peanuts. Fill all sides, up to the top, with more packing materials so that the contents will not move around during shipping.
Close and seal the box with packaging tape. Attach address and labels on the package and take to your local post office or shipping company.
