Bed comforters are bulky and can get cumbersome to package and ship. However, here are practical tips on how to pack and ship comforters easily and hassle-free.
The best way to package comforters for shipping is by using vacuum storage bags. These bags compress the comforter with the use of a home vacuum cleaner making it smaller in size and easier to place in a shipping box. Vacuum storage bags are airtight and waterproof and keep bugs, dirt, moisture, mildew, bacteria, musty odors, and discoloration away.
Once inside an appropriately-sized shipping box (that’s not too small nor too large), fill the remaining spaces with packing peanuts. Seal the box, put on address and labels, and take to the nearest shipping company.
Another packing option is to use the boxes the comforters were stored in when delivered to the retail shop. Bedding sets and comforters usually come to the store in an individual box. What you can do is check your local bedding store and ask for these boxes.
If you are lucky, you can even have them for free! Just put the comforter in its original plastic case or if not available, wrap it in clear plastic wrap to keep out dirt, moisture and other elements, place it in the box, seal it close and take to your local shipping company.
