How to Ship Balls

ship balls Some of the most popular sports, such as basketball, volleyball, and soccer, require a specially designed rubber ball to play. These balls usually have an inflatable inner rubber bladder, generally wrapped in layers of fiber and then covered with a tacky surface made either from leather (traditional), rubber, or a synthetic composite. There is also a small opening that allows the pressure to be increased or decreased.

Being spherical in shape, balls may seem challenging to pack for shipping. However, it is quite easy to pack. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship balls.

Wrap the ball in a couple of layers of bubble wrap. Use tape to prevent the wrap from getting undone during transit.

Get a sturdy cardboard box that is large enough to snugly accommodate the ball and provide a couple of extra space on all sides top and bottom. Fill the bottom of the box with a layer of packing materials. You may use bubble wrap, crumpled newspaper, or packing peanuts.

Place the wrapped ball on top of the packing materials. Fill remaining spaces on the sides and top with more packing materials. The ball should not move around inside the box. Close and seal the package with packing tape.

Address and label the box and take to a local post office or shipping company.
