How to Ship Baby Carriers

How to Ship Baby Carriers Baby carriers are handy devices that allow parents to move around and use their arms and hands even when carrying their child. They come in a variety of designs and made from different kinds of materials depending on the kind of activity the parent and child will venture into.

For instance, soft front baby carriers, slings and wraps are usually made from soft material and padded for the comfort of both the parent and baby. Child carrier backpacks, on the other hand, are made with sturdier fabrics and is supported by aluminum or aluminum alloy frame. This type of baby carriers is especially designed for more strenuous activities and targeted for adventurous parents who like to hike on nature trails with their tots in tow.

Baby carriers, particularly the soft front baby carriers and slings/wraps, can be easily sent via mail or any shipping company. Child carrier backpacks are bulkier, heavier and requires extra precautions in packaging to prevent any damage during transit. Here are some tips on how to properly pack and ship baby carriers.

Simply fold soft front, slings and wrap-type baby carriers and bubble wrap generously. Place inside a shipping box filled with a layer of packing peanuts on the bottom. Fill the sides and top with more packing materials until the item cannot move around inside the box. Close the box and seal with packaging tape.

Backpack carriers should be shipped using its original packaging and double boxed for optimum protection. If the original box is unavailable, disassemble or adjust the carrier into its smallest form and cover generously with bubble wrap. Any pointed or protruding part from the aluminum support should be well padded with bubble wrap to prevent them from puncturing theĀ  shipping box. Place the wrapped child carrier backpack inside a slightly larger shipping box with spaces on all sides for packing materials. Fill the box with packing materials such as Styrofoam peanuts on all sides. The box should be well packed such that the child carrier backpack cannot shift or move around the box.

Secure the package with packaging tape, making sure that all seams and openings are reinforced with packaging tape. Attach address and labels and take to a local post office or shipping company.
